First (non-plant) Inhabitants

After observing the nitrite and nitrate values for a while, and making sure that they were stable, and discussing with the pet store employees, I wanted the first inhabitants.

Because of the hair algae being very fast growing I decided on starting with Amano Shrimp, since they are larger than Neocaridina, they might be able to combat the hair algae slightly. I got 4 amanos, along with a trio of snails, and I decided on some Clithon Corona.

I let the new inhabitants get acclimated with drip acclimation, and then let them loose in the tank. (Which now also has another plant to replace the red in the backdrop, some Limnophilia heterophylla, which will also provide good hiding spots for potential shrimplings in the future.)

After letting them all acclimate I let them into the tank, and the amanos were quick to start the cleanup duties. The snails took some time to start moving around, but they got right to eating all the algae off the glass.
